Weekend in Cagbalete

Location: Cagbalete Island, Mauban, Quezon

In a not so distant island from the busy city of Lucena lies a beautiful paradise. Not so developed (still no regular electricity supply) that you will think that it is a million miles away from the city life. Pristine white sand and friendly folks await in this place.

With just a one night sleep interval, from my Ilocos Tour, me and my girlfriend immediately packed our things for this weekend geatway together with my former officemates in etelecare global solutions. We arrived in the island at around 4pm, still on time to watch the beautiful sunset with a cold beer in hand.

We greeted the morning lively as we watch the sunrise. Sunrise in Cagbalete is very amusing. Aside from the sunrise, another thing in Cagbalete that amazed me is the lowtide. Yup, thats right. It is because youre like seeing a desert. In able for you to wet your feet by the seawater, you need to walk hundred of yards. You will even see beached bancas.

Another activity that will surely delight you is snorkeling. Since the see floor is very shallow and sand is very white, you will be able to see the tropical fishes clearly!

Too bad we only stayed there for just 2 days, all my schedule can afford, but surely, I will be back here in this paradise in the near future and if schedule permits.

Back to Where It All Began

Jump shot.

Taken at the highest peak in Mt. Romelo.

Admire...

Grace on the catch basin of Buruwisan falls.

Misty Effect

Taken before the before the Buruwisan drop.

This mountain is one of the most memorable and unforgetable place ive been into, this is my first climb, 4 years ago. Its their (Grace and John) first time here, been here a couple of times.

Its a bit depressing to see how the condition of this place got degraded through the years. The last time ive been in here was on 2006. The rocks was not yet arranged but. there is also a strong presence of commercialism. Stores everywhere. And you can even see a group of campers who do the bathing in the river just like how they do it in their home, soap and shampoo. Maybe a few years from now, this will be like Hinulugang Taktak in Antipolo.

Falls to be visited, Buruwisan, Old Buruwisan, Sampaloc, Batya batya and Lanzones (the most pristine).

All of the images here are taken by John Bong So for i accidentally saved my shots on my sisters external hard drive that is now in Riyadh.
